PROGRAM INTRODUCTION:
This
innovative program provides a pathway for people currently working in pressure
measurement to further develop their knowledge and skills. It consists of a
two-day course plus an optional post-course assessment. The course component
covers essential knowledge of the calibration and use of a wide range of
pressure measuring instruments, their principles of operation and potential
sources of error. It incorporates extensive hands-on practical exercises. The
assessment is based on the application of knowledge and skills in the workplace.
The program is aligned to national industry competency standards which can lead
to a nationally recognized Statement of Attainment.
PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:
The
course provides participants with comprehensive knowledge of:
the
principles of operation of a variety of pressure measuring instruments
the
processes involved in the use and calibration of pressure equipment
the
various sources of error that affect pressure measurements
PROGRAM OUTLINES:
-
introduction to pressure measurement
-
traceability and international standards
