PROGRAM INTRODUCTION:

The goal of this workshop is to enable supply chain professionals to improve the bidding and contracting processes at their organizations. This includes understanding best practices across the contract management life cycle. Contract compliance plays a major role in terms of compliance with internal procedures, governmental laws and regulations, and contracts with external suppliers and service providers.

About this Workshop

This workshop focuses on the issues in developing a competitive bidding strategy and a contract management strategy. Topics examined include creating a request for proposal (RFP), fixed price versus cost-plus contracts, contract terms, uncertainty in the business environment, the legal aspects of bidding and contracting, contract compliance, performance review, building relationships with suppliers and international contracts. The workshop uses Canadian law cases on tendering and contracting to analyze the implications for supply chain managers.

You may already be a manager, and be familiar with some of the terminology, theory and practice of bidding and contracting. This workshop will further acquaint you with facets of bidding and contracting, and allow you the opportunity to improve your own contract management skills in a highly interactive learning environment. The workshop includes discussions, group work and presentations on enterprise contract management systems.
